We HEARTs TCP(9)!!!!-Sweet world from some guests from Hostelworld.com

Some sweet words from our guest again!!
AW~

From Aidan (Ireland):

"This was an excellent hostel!
The location was perfect - just 4 stops from the main station.
Also, it's on the same line as Danshui, so if you're planning a day trip, you don't have to transfer! There's a really good night market just around the corner from the hostel,
but it's still far enough so that you don't hear all the noise from the market.
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
Lukas was kind enough to show me around the night market and recommend some food to me.
I will return here!"

From JinChul Park (South Korea):

"It is located near the station.
Friendly staff, delicious food. Nearby university.
Good location!!!
Good staff and fun. I'll remember forever this guesthouse"

AWWWWW~
Jin Chul gonna remember it FOREVER!!
Thank you Aidan and JIn Chul,
hopefully we can make more people happy with their trip like what we did to you guys!!
Come back soon!! :)

The Cat's Hidden Spots(2) - Bitan

Dear travellers in Taiwan, after traveling around Taipei, have you been to the beautiful lake in Xindian District? The lake is called ''Bitan''.

Bitan literally means Green Lake, referring to where the Xidian River widens to from the lake.

When you visit Bitan, other than the beautiful scenery and bridge, there are many outdoor activities you can visit with your friends. There are Swan Paddles you can hire for 30mins to 1 hours on the lake, its great fun and also a good way to exercise. When you need a break, you may want to enjoy some food or a cup of coffee in one of the many restaurants and café right above the river bank. There are also many Taiwanese food stands and shops around, maybe I will save some for you to explore!!

How to get to Bitan?

Catch the MRT to Xingdian(新店), the terminal station on Green line.

Night Owl (7) - Micasa

【Micasa】
Address: B1, No. 277, Sec. 2, Dunhua S. Rd, Taipei (Close to MRT Liuzhangli Station)
Entrance: 400 NTD for girls, 600 NTD for guys for an open Bar

Thinking you’ve got a latino in your soul? Wondering where the latinos have gone in Taipei? Well, Micasa is the club for you.

Starting from Barrio, Hips, until the Micasa now, for years the club has been adding a pinch of latin flavor on top of the lively night life in Taipei. Every weekend, besides the general pop you can hear everywhere, Micasa also brings us other alternatives from Salsa, bachata, merengue to Caribbean Reggae and reggaeton.

Drink-wise, it offers up to 30 different kinds of drinks: Margarita, Cuba Libre, tequila shot, all you can drink( if you can take it) the whole night. Another worth mentioning is their finger-licking food coming from the chef from the reputatious latin restaurant “El Gallo”.

So next time, when you feel like some latin passion, save your ticket to Cuba. Check out Micasa, it will assure you the best latin experience in Taipei.

The Cat's Travel Guide: Shenkeng (深坑)

*Why you should go to Shenkeng?
Check out the old street and eat local food. Also, Shenkeng has been identified with "TOFU", people even call it "The Tofu Capital" of Taiwan. Beside trying the best tofu in this country, what else I should say?

*How to get there?
By Bus and Subway
You can take the subway to Gong Guan station on green line, then take the bus number 660 and get off at Shenkeng stop; also you can just take the bus 236 from either Taipei Main Station or wherever, then get off at the last stop.

P.S
Shenkeng is a cool town to visit, but probably not that kind of place you should hang out for 1 day. So we strongly suggest that beside visiting Shenkeng, you check out the area close by, such as the AMAZING Taipei Zoo. Think about it: after the stop at the zoo, you probably don't want to eat any more meat after watching those creatures happily jumping around. At this moment, nothing is better than a silky, warm plate of tofu showing up on your dinning table, isn't it?
